So yesterday I guess b/c of the weather "the milk man" was unable to deliver any milk to our house! Well, I have to have milk everyday! That is all I really drink: water, milk, and grapefruit/OJ in the morning... So I was a lil upset when I came back from class, and there was no milk!
When we were in class yesterday, I was complaining to Amanda how we did not have any milk, and that I was seriously gonna go buy some for the weekend. She responded,"We have plenty of milk at the Alpha Xi Delta chapter; we will donate some to the Kds." Now, I was not gonna steal their milk, but later, in the night after class, Amanda texted me and said they had extra cows at their house..... So have being pursued by her and Kristen (another Alpha Xi Delta) I walked over, and they donated 2 gallons of milk to our chapter!
Now, maybe you are thinking that is no big deal; it is just 2 gallons of milk. I disagree. Amanda could have ignored my comment and just told me to go buy some or not reach out to me a second time to come get milk. So to me, I am thinking this is a step toward COMMUNITY... one chapter helping another when they are in need or just need some milk:) Kinda like when neighbors talk about borrowing a cup of sugar. We are neighbors here in the Greek community so we should want to support each other in everything we do whether that is a risk management program (Tri Delta this Monday, Feb 8th) or Delta Sigma Theta's event on Feb 18th).
Either way, it was some much fun to come back to KD with milk and hear everyone be so impressed with the ladies of Alpha Xi Delta's act of kindness. They were genuinely impressed and appreciative. I feel like it is the small things in life that mean the most.
So where did those cows come from? our sisters down on 15th..
