One of the goals of the Executive Board of PHA this year is to really help the other members at our meetings to understand the purpose of PHA and what our role is in the community as well as how we can help create a better community.
Last week, we started by dividing up the women into groups to discuss a portion of the Mission Statement. So this week, after first looking at what our purpose is and what we state that we stand for we are having a discussion by Jeff Pellitier about Values/Ritual.
We, as Exec, thought it would be smart to frame our Executive meetings around our PHA meetings; thus, we discuss a portion of the upcoming PHA meeting at our Exec meeting so we will be prepared to help facilitate or lead the discussions at the PHA meetings.
So values.... What do I value and how do they fall within the PHA Mission Statement:
1. I value my faith, my family, and my friends.
I value integrity, honesty, discipline
I value hard work and working to make a difference
I value helping other people and staying healthy
I value responsibility and high standards
I value opportunities and learning
I value the small things in life.
In our PHA Mission Statement, we state that we value:
1. scholarship
2. friendship
3. service
4. mataining high standards
5. health
6. diversity
7. strive to live
8. community
Even though I have kinda blogged about this before about how I feel that our community has a lot of things that we need to change and other things that we do well; I think that we are taking the first steps by the discussions that we are having in class and the initiatives that we are taking within our councils.
